Blog Backlog!!

Sooo... I seem to have a huge backlog of clothes that I've not blogged about!! This obviously has to be sorted out!
You won't be disappointed though, as I seem to have had a fair few shopping trips to log!

Firstly this cute polka dot sheer top, I really like spots and stripes at the moment and thought this top could be dressed down or up depending on how I feel and what I wear it with.. It was from a concession in New Look and was £15!

Working at Topshop I get a uniform allowance so get 60% off a few items, the next 3 items are all from my uniform. Firstly this cute summer dress, although not summer yet I wore it to work with tights and got asked numerous times where it was in store.. Result!! Its currently on sale for £45.

Another item from uniform was this pretty cream lace dress.. I have noticed a fashion for cream dresses and black tights which I LOVE! However you have to make sure you wear the right tights, not too sheer and not too shiny! Think I have the perfect ones ready :) It is currently in store at £48..

I also wanted a less 'dressy' piece so picked up this girly blouse, I like wearing a pretty top with jeans and thought this would go perfectly! I think it would also look really nice tucked into a skirt maybe an a line denim one, or a more colourful one when it gets closer to summer!

I also have my BARGAIN of the week!!! I absolutely LOVE red at the minute and found this dress from H&M in the sale in such a fashionable colour, for £7!! Its a silky feel fabric and although its a size 14, (I'm a size 10) with a waist belt holding it all it you would never be able to tell!

I also needed some basic tops/jumpers to wear just for casual day time. I got some plain boring camel, black and cream tops but also brought this jumper top as I really like the pastel dirty pink colour of it and it was good value at £12.99 :)

I got this T shirt from Zara at £9.99. I love it as I like being a 'princess' so its a bit tongue in cheek for me! I would pair it with some jeans, leggings or shorts in the day time but could tuck it into a skirt to make it a bit more funky!
Finally I needed some new denim shorts for the summer. These were from New Look and only £20! They are a 50's style high waisted and light coloured denim.. I love these to go with anything from a sheer shirt to casual T shirt.

Still catching up...

Theres still alot more that needs putting on here! Its making me slowly come to terms with the fact I buy A LOT! haha. Oh well what young women doesn't!!
This week I got a few little bits.. firstly a cute light pink top from H&M, I got some new jeans from Zara as I find them a perfect fit.. and the basic ones start from £26! So cant go wrong I have brought them in 2 colours so far and am planning on getting more! Might as well stock up!!
Anyway wanted some tops that could go with my jeans.. So I thought this would look nice, with some black pumps and maybe a blazer or leather jacket..

I also brought some shorts from H&M. I love the cute daisy print on them, getting me ready for the summer.. Whenever it decides to come!! I wore them out the other week with a chunky belt and black top.. but could wear them in the day time too! And cheap at £15 too!!

This top from a concession at Topshop was brought to go with my black jeans and heels for a meal with my friends.. I like it as its not TOO dressy but has little beads sewn on to make it seem more evening-y!

It was also my sister's 18th Birthday this week and needed to get a smart dress for a meal with the family. I decided on a black shift style dress from Topshop. I really like this shape dress and I find it slimming and I can eat more as its not tight and clingy! Bonus!!
It was £40 but 100% linen and is black so can be worn a lot!!

And finally a little outfit snap! I have realised I wear Black A LOT!! Maybe next time I go shopping I need to get with the colour blocking trend!! But I just feel so safe in black!
I wore this out for a friends birthday, we just went for a couple of drinks at a bar so I went quite plain with my clothes, just bit more exciting with the tights and chunky necklace..
Thats all for today.. BUT!.... I got paid this week so next post will most probably be a LONG one!! Enjoy!

Better Late than never...

Im SOOOO bad at this! My computer died a few weeks ago and I have completely forgotten to keep up to date with this.. However my ability to shop has still remained in tact! Thank god really! Gives me something to write about!! Might have to split this up into a few posts.. So it doesn't look like I'm starting a small novel!

Right.. If I can remember this far back! haha
I still managed to get some last min bargins in the sale.. Most of them I have already mentioned but I also got this beaut cardigan from All Saints for £42!! How good is that!!
I wore it recently with a new dress I got from Topshop as will be shown below, I also like the fact this cardigan is quite thick so I can get away without a coat (obviously when the weather isn't below freezing!!)

This is my tribal patterned dress from Topshop, I like it as it goes with the safari trend around and the moment and as its just a cotton dress was reasonably cheap at £28 :)

Also as promised a picture of me in my black dress and new shoes! They wern't as comfy as I expected however!! But looked nice which is all that matters...

Week 2 (The loan has come through!)

Well well well.. this week my loan came in and as I'm sure any student will tell you its hard not to spend it as soon as you get it! Ive been quite good and still managed to pay my rent and bills (so far!). But did treat myself to a few little bits! I'm only human!!

Firstly where I work in Topshop in Nottingham, they have a Kurt Geiger section! Bad when I'm not supposed to be spending lots of money!! But they do have a sale on! So in my mind that's not too bad :)
Got these beauts for £59 reduced from £130!! So saving £70 does make it seem ok!!
I'm saving them to wear at my friends birthday with a dress you will see later on and some cute ankle socks. (Will try and get a picture to show :))
I have been wanting one of these fur scarves for ages.. they sold out of the nicer ones in Topshop, so brought one from New Look instead as it was only £7.99 and they have 20% student discount at the min! Lovely (As you will see went a bit mad there!) I wear this with my 'faux waxed jacket' as I like to call it! or my leather one.

This top is also from New Look!! and was £6.99.. I just really wanted some simple top's, with plain colours so I can pretty much wear them to anything. As when I look in my wardrobe at the min there seems to be too much pattern!!

Although its getting into summer trends now, I think this coat will take me through the seasons as its not too warm with the cape sleeves and I can leave it open to make it more of a 'summer jacket' I love it though and it was only £39.99 again from New Look! (see the pattern now! haha)

This shirt was also a bargain at £7.99 from H&M. Although you cant tell very much on the picture its very sheer and lightweight. I wore this to work the other day and a few people complimented on my outfit which was nice :) (Shown Below)

I wore it with my high waisted denim shorts (£20ish from Topshop, cant remember exactly how much!)
and my belt which I got in the sale for £15.
Also I know my picture of myself is poor! Im back at uni now with my short mirror!! I will try to sort it out though! haha

A few more New Look purchases now. Firstly my coral coloured 'silk feel' top, which is defiantly not silk but who cares! at £17.99 what do you expect! Ive not worn it yet but will probably wear it with either black jeans in the day, or tucked into a skirt for evening.

And lastly my dress for my flatmates Birthday, Being chucked in a bag it is terribly creased in this picture but I will get a better one of me in it hopefully! It was £25. I tried it on, but find it quite long (as I'm rather short!) so going to wear and black belt to pull it up a little bit :)
Anyway thats all for this week, going out tonight so will have some pictures up soon!!

Outfits from the Katie-Closet

As well as blogging what I've recently brought, I thought every now and then (when I manage to take an OK picture of myself) I would put up a few pic's of my outfits and hopefully see how I wear what I've brought. Or just when I like an outfit :)

Here is my first outfit, Ive not documented any of what I'm wearing in the picture but I like this outfit as a casual shopping trip look. I like mixing cheap buys with more expensive things too so it makes the whole outfit less 'Primark' more 'Prada'. So here is what I'm wearing:
Boots: £18 Primark
Jeans: £40 Topshop
White T: £9 River Island
Faux waxed Jacket: £19 Primark
Scarf: £20 Zara
Bag: £180 Moschino (My Baby, a Christmas Present which instantly gives my outfit the Xtra Factor!)
So although most of my outfit cost just over £100, I chose to get a slightly more expensive bag to give the look a bit more UMPH!

My second look this week (which I managed to get a picture of) is with my new top. I wore this out for a few drink with my friends and although you can't see here I paired it with a black boyfriend style blazer from Zara and some black Shoe Boots from an website called http://www.missguided.com/ which has some really good cheap clothes!

Day 1...

OK so I actually started taking pictures a week or so ago but only just got round to writing now, (naughty me!) so on my first shopping trip of the year here is what I managed to buy..

So firstly is this sheer cream blouse from New Look. Unfortunately I don't have a REAL reason for buying it other than I really liked it and it was only £20! Bargain! I think I'm Going to wear it either tucked into a high-waisted skirt or shorts or maybe with my black jeans and army boots for a less girly look.

This baby is my Bargain, Ive not mentioned it but I work part time at Topshop (so more than likely you will see a lot of their stuff!) and I found this in the sale, was £65, reduced to £30 and then with my discount.. DIRT CHEAP! I love the special-ness about this top/dress with all the sequins on it, looks a lot more expensive than it was! Mwahaha!!

Now these are slightly boring but I said I would journal everything ok! I really needed just some plain black pumps so didn't want to splash out too much! Got these ones from Primark for a lovely £6! And they go with everything so no need to explain all that!

The last thing I brought this week was this cute vest from Topshop, was only £16 and I already have another one in a different colour and just love the way it fits, very slimming over a slightly sticking out tummy (which I do hope is GONE for summer!) Ive worn my other one tucked in shorts or with jeans so will probably do the same with this one.

So first week down and not done too badly, however this is the week before I get my loan and go back to uni, so be prepared for the weeks to come!!!

My Shopping Therapy Starts Here...

shopaholic

noun
a compulsive shopper; "shopaholics can never resist a bargain"

Looking in the dictionary under 'Shopaholic' there I am. The definition of me! Its 2011 and for the past 20 years I've never been able to save my money, or at least put it to good use!
Part of the reason for starting this blog is to document what I buy and how I wear it/manage to put it to good use. I'm hoping (fingers crossed) this can make me see the errors of my way and where I spend money on crap which I never wear and where I actually make some good useful buys. Think of this a therapy for the sick shopaholic! So here we go.... (Lets hope it works!)
