Week 2 (The loan has come through!)

Well well well.. this week my loan came in and as I'm sure any student will tell you its hard not to spend it as soon as you get it! Ive been quite good and still managed to pay my rent and bills (so far!). But did treat myself to a few little bits! I'm only human!!

Firstly where I work in Topshop in Nottingham, they have a Kurt Geiger section! Bad when I'm not supposed to be spending lots of money!! But they do have a sale on! So in my mind that's not too bad :)
Got these beauts for £59 reduced from £130!! So saving £70 does make it seem ok!!
I'm saving them to wear at my friends birthday with a dress you will see later on and some cute ankle socks. (Will try and get a picture to show :))
I have been wanting one of these fur scarves for ages.. they sold out of the nicer ones in Topshop, so brought one from New Look instead as it was only £7.99 and they have 20% student discount at the min! Lovely (As you will see went a bit mad there!) I wear this with my 'faux waxed jacket' as I like to call it! or my leather one.

This top is also from New Look!! and was £6.99.. I just really wanted some simple top's, with plain colours so I can pretty much wear them to anything. As when I look in my wardrobe at the min there seems to be too much pattern!!

Although its getting into summer trends now, I think this coat will take me through the seasons as its not too warm with the cape sleeves and I can leave it open to make it more of a 'summer jacket' I love it though and it was only £39.99 again from New Look! (see the pattern now! haha)

This shirt was also a bargain at £7.99 from H&M. Although you cant tell very much on the picture its very sheer and lightweight. I wore this to work the other day and a few people complimented on my outfit which was nice :) (Shown Below)

I wore it with my high waisted denim shorts (£20ish from Topshop, cant remember exactly how much!)
and my belt which I got in the sale for £15.
Also I know my picture of myself is poor! Im back at uni now with my short mirror!! I will try to sort it out though! haha

A few more New Look purchases now. Firstly my coral coloured 'silk feel' top, which is defiantly not silk but who cares! at £17.99 what do you expect! Ive not worn it yet but will probably wear it with either black jeans in the day, or tucked into a skirt for evening.

And lastly my dress for my flatmates Birthday, Being chucked in a bag it is terribly creased in this picture but I will get a better one of me in it hopefully! It was £25. I tried it on, but find it quite long (as I'm rather short!) so going to wear and black belt to pull it up a little bit :)
Anyway thats all for this week, going out tonight so will have some pictures up soon!!

Outfits from the Katie-Closet

As well as blogging what I've recently brought, I thought every now and then (when I manage to take an OK picture of myself) I would put up a few pic's of my outfits and hopefully see how I wear what I've brought. Or just when I like an outfit :)

Here is my first outfit, Ive not documented any of what I'm wearing in the picture but I like this outfit as a casual shopping trip look. I like mixing cheap buys with more expensive things too so it makes the whole outfit less 'Primark' more 'Prada'. So here is what I'm wearing:
Boots: £18 Primark
Jeans: £40 Topshop
White T: £9 River Island
Faux waxed Jacket: £19 Primark
Scarf: £20 Zara
Bag: £180 Moschino (My Baby, a Christmas Present which instantly gives my outfit the Xtra Factor!)
So although most of my outfit cost just over £100, I chose to get a slightly more expensive bag to give the look a bit more UMPH!

My second look this week (which I managed to get a picture of) is with my new top. I wore this out for a few drink with my friends and although you can't see here I paired it with a black boyfriend style blazer from Zara and some black Shoe Boots from an website called http://www.missguided.com/ which has some really good cheap clothes!

Day 1...

OK so I actually started taking pictures a week or so ago but only just got round to writing now, (naughty me!) so on my first shopping trip of the year here is what I managed to buy..

So firstly is this sheer cream blouse from New Look. Unfortunately I don't have a REAL reason for buying it other than I really liked it and it was only £20! Bargain! I think I'm Going to wear it either tucked into a high-waisted skirt or shorts or maybe with my black jeans and army boots for a less girly look.

This baby is my Bargain, Ive not mentioned it but I work part time at Topshop (so more than likely you will see a lot of their stuff!) and I found this in the sale, was £65, reduced to £30 and then with my discount.. DIRT CHEAP! I love the special-ness about this top/dress with all the sequins on it, looks a lot more expensive than it was! Mwahaha!!

Now these are slightly boring but I said I would journal everything ok! I really needed just some plain black pumps so didn't want to splash out too much! Got these ones from Primark for a lovely £6! And they go with everything so no need to explain all that!

The last thing I brought this week was this cute vest from Topshop, was only £16 and I already have another one in a different colour and just love the way it fits, very slimming over a slightly sticking out tummy (which I do hope is GONE for summer!) Ive worn my other one tucked in shorts or with jeans so will probably do the same with this one.

So first week down and not done too badly, however this is the week before I get my loan and go back to uni, so be prepared for the weeks to come!!!

My Shopping Therapy Starts Here...

shopaholic

noun
a compulsive shopper; "shopaholics can never resist a bargain"

Looking in the dictionary under 'Shopaholic' there I am. The definition of me! Its 2011 and for the past 20 years I've never been able to save my money, or at least put it to good use!
Part of the reason for starting this blog is to document what I buy and how I wear it/manage to put it to good use. I'm hoping (fingers crossed) this can make me see the errors of my way and where I spend money on crap which I never wear and where I actually make some good useful buys. Think of this a therapy for the sick shopaholic! So here we go.... (Lets hope it works!)
